Visit Stebbins Cold Canyon
Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve is open to the public during daylight hours, year round. This is a sensitive wildlife area as well as an outdoor laboratory, so we ask that you respect the signs that indicate areas that are closed or being used by researchers.
Please note that dogs are not allowed on the reserve.
Directions and Parking
Stebbins Cold Canyon is located approximately 35 minutes west of UC Davis via Winters west on Highway 128. There are two parking areas: the Main Parking is located just over the Putah Creek bridge on the right as you cross from Yolo to Solano Counties. The Roadside Parking is almost a ¼ mile south of this also on the right and is more limited for space as the main parking area.
Information kiosks in both parking areas will direct you to the trail head which is just south of Highway 128. It can be accessed either by crossing Hwy 128 or, during the dry season, underneath Hwy 128 via a large stormwater culvert.
