Sophia Simon is a P.h.D candidate in the Graduate Group in Ecology at UC Davis studying the sustainability of marine food webs using methods in theoretical and networking ecology. Sophia is broadly interested in connecting theoretical and food web perspectives to use-inspired and applied management settings. As a co-director of Hands on the Land, Sophia is excited about the program’s opportunities for connecting students and broader community members with land-based work and learning. Sophia co-founded Hands on the Land in 2021 and has continued to serve as a Director of the program.
