Bio

Isha is a PhD student in the Graduate Group in Geography at UC Davis. Her research focuses on the dynamic intersection of agriculture, food security, nutritional well-being, social inclusion, and the impacts of climate change-induced disasters. With a background in agricultural science, Isha is particularly passionate about understanding pathways for fostering accessible, equitable, and sustainable innovations tailored to farming communities in the Global South. Her affinity for the natural world and commitment to empowering youth through community-based initiatives in her prior engagements in Nepal inspired her to join Hands on the Land as the newest co-director in 2024. Isha is particularly interested in exploring the transformative potential of outdoor activities and their ability to foster positive mental health outcomes, enhance overall well-being, and forge meaningful social connections among individuals.
